EAA’s Young Eagles Program

One of my earliest aviation memories is going for an airplane ride at the McBride Airport near Marion, IA. It was a free ride provided by local pilots using their own airplanes and time. Unfortunately, that airport has fallen victim to urban sprawl, but the ride itself solidified my love for flying in a major way. The Young Eagles program is run by the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and enlists aviators everywhere to help give free airplane rides to young people with a passion for aviation. It's a great way to get involved and help foster a love for aviation in young people. 20+ years later, I'm proud to be using our airplane to create those same experiences other kids.
